I’m trying to lose those last 5-10 pounds. I am starting to drink weight loss/ nutrition shakes as breakfast. I know that I will be consuming more calories than normal by adding breakfast, but many weight loss tips say to add breakfast because it speeds up your metabolism. Also, on days that I eat breakfast, I feel more hungry than days that I skip. Can you give me any insight? Should I be drinking weight loss shakes (such as Slim Fast or the Equate drinks) or Ensure? Thank you!
the reason for feeling hungry more after eating your breakfast could be one of two reasons. Firstly you could be working off the breakfast and therefore your body requires more fuel, or secondly. you have eaten a sugary breakfast which gave you and energy boost for a while which has ended and the body now craves more to keep you going. Try and eat a more balanced breakfast such as all-bran or bran flakes, shreddies, weetabix etc. Something that will keep you going till lunch, as they release energy slower. However slim fast shakes for breakfast are ok as long as you stick to the regime it is meant for. Good luck but dont over do it.
How many times aday should I eat and what should I eat for those meals in order to lose weight?
They say that 90% of weight loss is nutrition and I need to lose 60 lbs so can anyone help. possibly a fitness trainer
1. eat 5-6 small meals a day
the smaller meals should be a snack…nutrition bar around 100-160 cal…carrots with PB…yogurt
2. you want to eat low glycemic foods (its what helps cut cravings and stabalizes your blood sugar)
3. Usana Health Sciences had a really good 5 Day Reset Program to help get you a jumpstart…and a Phase One and Two that is a healthy way to lose weight (and you can get the products at wholesale if you ask) When you got to the website, click on the Products button, then Macro-Optimizers, then RESET

P.S- There's nothing wrong with a diet. Everyone alive is on a diet. It's not necessarily a weight-loss diet.
sefhqwi o- Dare to spam my question will you? Taste my wrath!
I suppose it is easy to assume that if someone is asking about nutrition that they don't know a great deal about healthy eating and may be overweight.
Which I think is incorrect, healthy eating is something we should all think about whether we are overweight or not. After all you can be thin and still be unhealthy or have lost weight in an unhealthy way. Having said that I am probably as guilty of associating weight loss with nutrition as the next person - even though nutrition is an interest of mine and I am not overweight (anymore).
i dont want to starve myself, and i dont like to throw up. i get enough exercise, and i eat pretty good. i have a very low matabolism though… i also have to climb a lot of stairs for school, and i am envolved in a sport. i would like to lose about 10 pounds, and preferably quickly.
Not getting enough exercise is the problem. If you would run like a mad man, you could drop it quickly and out on some muscle. Sit in a sauna, loss bad toxins. Or get a body wrap that just sucks all the water you've retained out of ya.
The program allows you to either lose or control your weight without giving up your favorite foods you like and without leaving you hungry. Millions worldwide have shared results, it's so much simpler than slimfast.
I dont know what your program is, but I gave up my favourite foods and I'm really glad I did!
I've gone from size 10-12 down to a size 6-7, and that's only by switching from white bread to wholegrain, low fat milk, eating much more fresh fruit and veges and meat, nuts and lots more water. I cut out all crap from my diet. NO sugar at all! Oh, I exercise a lot more too. I walk 3 times a week, (for an hour or more) ,plus I go to the gym, and I do tae bo, and have a fitball where i work out for an hour about twice a week. It boils down to changing your attitude. Exercise isn't a chore anymore, I just love it!
I'd be interested in seeing your nutrition program, just out of curiosity!
If anyone wants to contact me, feel free to email me. I'm happy to share my tips if it helps someone
Besides the one way that is proscribed by the government via the Food Pyramid? Your thoughts?
You can try all methods, but in order to lose weight you would really, really, really, need to want to. With the "will" and sacrifices you can do anything. I lost weight with just eating chicken breast and vegetables, and salads. l coffee a day, lots of water. Another one I tried that was super easy was counting the points with Weight Watchers. Without trying I would lose 2 lbs weekly (8 lbs a month!). I stopped going because of the weekly meetings, but some people love those meetings– I think it depends on the instructor.
If your already a little fat but you want to build muscle aswell as lose fat is it a good idea to have whey protein before your workout and in the morning? My biggest concern is losing weight but I also wish to be as strong as possible…
Eat the whey protein after your workout. I have been doing the crossfit workouts and they have shredded my body big time (removed my body fat). They are pretty tough, but the results are quick!
give them a try and see what you think. I usually do the WOD's

Also to tone muscle, make sure you are getting plenty of protein to aid in recovery and building of new muscle tissue
